A pannini grill is just like the same with the kitchen gadgets and appliances we use- or all appliances for that matter, we clean it. Not only do we clean for hygienic purposes but as well as to maintain their durability and for it to last longer and continue working properly. Pannini grills have to be clean after each use. Removing food residue with non-stick spray on top and bottom parts of the grill is most important.

Cleaning A Pannini Grill

Using chemical detergents on the grill is a no-no since these can stick to the crevices in the grill and would eventually come off on any the sandwiches you make with the grill. Food poisoning is the least you should worry about. Good thing though there is a safe and economical way to clean your pannini grill. All it takes is a cup of soda water and a narrow wire bristle brush.

Prior to shutting off your grill, pour 1/8 cup of soda water on the grill, then close it. The soda water will tend to splatter while it’s doing its thing so be sure to keep a distance or stand well enough away from the grill after you have poured the solution. When you can no longer here the fizzling of the carbon bubbles in the water, it’s safe to open up the grill’s top.

Using the narrow wire bristled brush, scrape away the remaining substance and any burnt food on top and the bottom parts of grill. Doing this can take a muscle or two but the soda water solution would make it easier to clean.

Do note that the removed food and residue can be a mess on your counter top and floor so better keep a broom and dustpan handy with you. There you have it, your pannini grill is clean and ready for your next grilling!

Have you ever tried a Panini sandwich? Do you know that there is a griller to make Panini? Well, here in the Philippines, Panini is not as widely known as in the US or Europe and many locals here don’t have any idea what this sandwich is and what it looks like. I mean, even restaurants and fast-food chains don’t carry a Panini sandwich on their menus and it can only be found in Italian restaurants here which honestly, don’t sell too well with locals. Anyway the Panini sandwich is a grilled sandwich that is filled with Italian meats like salami or ham and cheeses like provolone or mozzarella. The Panini Grill is a clam-shell designed griller that makes Panini sandwich.

In the US and parts of Europe where it’s easy to get a traditional Panini sandwich, many restaurants are selling Panini with more exotic fillings. Well-known chefs have created Panini recipes using different types of meat like chicken or beef, as well as vegetables to add more styles to the traditional Italian Panini. As a result, Panini Grill has become a must-have appliance in the kitchen to create these delicious and wonderful sandwiches with fillings depending on one’s palate. These grills are inexpensive with prices ranging from 100 to 200 US dollars. The average grill can make two sandwiches at a time but bigger grills can be purchased to grill even more sandwiches. Unlike grilling with a pan, a griller has the advantage of grilling without putting additional fat. For health-conscious people, low-calorie ingredients can be substituted for both the fillings and the bread without sacrificing the taste and flavor. Since the grill surface is ridged, fat will also drain off from the sandwich and the grill can also be used for other foods like vegetables or meat. Additionally, cooking-time is much shorter because of the simultaneous grilling and sandwiches will be done in a matter of minutes.

This grill is very simple to use once you get the hang of it. When it is used often, it can make a unique and delicious snack or entrée but if it’s not then it’ll only take up space in the kitchen.
